On This Day In 2019
The Trump Family finds a new way to create an international spat
Cut the crap: Back in 2014, before Trump became a politician, a Canadian TV channel broadcast the 1992 holiday flick “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.” To help make the movie shorter for broadcast, they edited out several unimportant scenes, including the brief cameo of Donald Trump.
OTDI 2019, the cut became a quintessential Trump fake problem. At first, Trump sort of made light of it, saying the movie would never be the same--“just kidding”--and poking fun at Canadian PM Justin Trudeau.
But the Trump Family went ballistic. Donald Jr called the Canadian broadcaster "totally pathetic." "Imagine being so 'triggered' that you can't even leave a Christmas movie alone without editing," he wrote. "This is what we are up against (as we enter) 2020."
Fortunately, there was nothing more important going on that week around the world which President Trump should have been focused on…such as, you know the scary reports of a new coronavirus starting to ravage China.
