November 3: On This Day In 2020
Four years ago today, OTDI 2020, was Election Day. Do you remember how nervous you were about that Trump-Biden outcome? Are you more or less nervous now for Harris-Trump?
Biden won, 306-202 in the Electoral College. So Biden earned 51% more EC votes than Trump did. A shellacking. He crushed him. That's a tremendous margin of victory. Right?
Sort of.
Turns out that if Trump had secured the right mix of just 42,921 more votes, the Electoral College would have been tied. Trump needed just 10,457 votes in Arizona, 11,779 in Georgia, and 20,682 in Wisconsin.
No election outcome in 2024 can be taken for granted.
