On This Day In 2019

Let’s work together for 2024

Last month there was a surge of news stories speculating about what a second Trump term would look like. One reason was that Trump openly refused to say he wouldn’t become a Dictator, at least for “Day One.”

These headlines are from the past few weeks:

  • "The fear of a looming Trump dictatorship” (WaPo)

  • “Why a Second Trump Presidency May Be More Radical Than His First” (NYT)

  • “Trump allies craft plans to give him unprecedented power if he wins the White House.”  (NPR)

  • “The idea of a 2nd Trump presidency will be different. Trump has cemented himself within the GOP, removed all of their typical values & replaced them with MAGA propaganda.” (TLP)

  • “The proposals that are on the table would create a deep state” (Politico)

  • “Trump likens himself to ‘great’ Al Capone” (Independent)

  • “Trump Channels Hitler With ‘Poison the Blood’ Reference at Dictator-Friendly Rally” (Rolling Stone)

And then there was the always-lovely Trump spokesman who just announced that some of Trump’s opponents, whom Trump called “Vermin,” are “suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome and their entire existence will be crushed when President Trump returns to the White House.”

But it’s our view here at OTDI that there’s no need to GUESS what a second Trump Administration would look like, because we have four years of data about what happened the first time around.

  • We know how much his policies hurt our families, our students, and our standing in the world.

  • We know how much his lies degraded the ability of all Americans to honestly discuss and evaluate important ideas.

  • We know how badly his appointees and staffers damaged the agencies they led.

  • We know how the cumulative impacts of the Trump Administration led to deaths and misery for so many.

Our responsibility here at OTDI is to remind adults exactly HOW the Trump Administration made such an impact on America and the world. And we’ll also tell you about some fun things you probably missed the first time around.

So, each day we’ll look back to something which happened OTDI The Trump Administration and what it all meant for our country and our world.

Each bite-sized daily entry only takes about a minute to swallow. Subscribe, follow, and pass ‘em along to your friends. We want all Americans to make a fully-informed choice when they vote in November.

Meanwhile, we’ll pass along this Trumpian New Year’s gem from OTDI 2019.

Here at OTDI, we unequivocally wish a happy New Year to all.
