Whose America do you prefer?
By many objective measures, Biden’s term has proven better for America than Trump’s term.
Economic growth has been superior. Our government has restored funding to education, lower-income families, and healthcare. The Biden Administration has reinforced Democrats’ commitment to supporting women’s health and reproductive rights, gun control, and social security and Medicare on behalf of our seniors. The list goes on.
But today, rather than focus on all those topics, let’s just compare-and-contrast these two leaders via a simple video. Jan. 20 is Inauguration Day, which means OTDI 2017 Trump took office, giving his “American Carnage” speech which portrayed our nation as a hellhole.
“That was some weird shit,” was George W. Bush’s assessment of Trump’s ideology.
It also means OTDI 2021 Biden took office. And, one year from today, OTDI 2025, presumably one of those two will again take the oath of office.
So, let’s take a look at their inaugural speeches. This 2+ minute video compares the two. Here at OTDI, we’ll spend the year showing you how a president’s policies impact a nation. But, simply based on this speech…whose America do you prefer?
By the way, because we can’t help ourselves, we’ll note: Trump went out in a blaze of lies. As the AP put it, “In his final remarks as president, Donald Trump tried to take credit for accomplishments of his predecessor and even those to come under President Joe Biden. Falsehoods suffused his farewell remarks…”
