The # of kids without health insurance soars under Trump; Obamacare enrollment falls under his guidance

October 13: On This Day In 2019

So, yesterday we showed how Trump tried everything he could to destroy Obamacare. Yesterday, OTDI 2017 Trump signed the executive order which began to chip away at Obamacare’s benefits. Now two years later, OTDI 2019, some distinct damages from Trump’s efforts were already measurable.

One of the primary purposes of Obamacare was to help protect kids. But OTDI 2019, reports spread widely of the Georgetown University study which showed that the number of kids without health insurance increased by about 726,000 during the first three years under Trump’s oversight of America’s health insurance.

Yesterday, we noted that one way Trump tried to dismantle Obamacare was by reducing funding to programs which informed the public about Obamacare. The Georgetown study cited several reasons for the declines – not surprisingly, one primary cause was the reduced public promotion of Obamacare and Medicaid, especially in MAGA red states. Texas and Florida posted the largest declines in the number of insured children, as health officials in those states worked hard to honor the wishes of their party’s leader in the White House.

Once Biden took over, the # of Americans protected by Obamacare began to rise again. Under Trump, total participants fell by 1.3 million. Under Biden, the count rose by 10 million.

Under Red presidents, enrollment fell; soared under Blue leaders

Let’s see, under Trump, the # of Americans with Obamacare coverage fell. Under Obama and Biden, they rose. This is not a coincidence. It does matter who’s in the White House.

BTW: Guess who thinks Obamacare is such a good deal that they use it? https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2024/10/12/jd-vance-mother-health-insurance-obamacare-aca/
