Yes, it's as ludicrous as it sounds.

The actress Roseanne Bar was a notorious Trumper. Then she posted a blatantly racist tweet about former Obama advisor Valarie Jarrett. OTDI 2018, ABC cancelled her eponymous sitcom and issued an apology.

Even though ABC had nothing to do with Barr's statement, and it wasn't aired on any of their programs, they still felt it was important to disassociate themselves from someone who had just chosen to stain themselves so badly.

Of course Trump also immediately spoke out against the racism his staunch supporter had spouted. After all, he doesn't want to be associated with those statements, and he wants to promote healing for all of the Americans he leads. Nah, just kidding. Instead...

Much like he did after Charlottesville, Trump used the occasion not to condemn racism or racist remarks; instead, he attacked ABC and its parent company, Disney.

As the New York Times reported: The president, referring to himself in the third person, complained on Twitter that Mr. Iger had “never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the HORRIBLE statements made and said about me on ABC.”

Disney CEO Bob Iger responded: “There was only one thing to do here, and that was the right thing.”
