April 4: On This Day In 2016
History is filled with what-ifs. As in “What would be different today if only…?” The 2016 election had 77,744 what-ifs.
Wisconsin was a key “battleground” state; winning it was key to winning the presidency. So OTDI 2016, Trump held three campaign events there: in Milwaukee, Superior, and La Crosse. At each stop, he spun several lies to captivate his audience.
Those were just a handful of the 5,000+ lies Trump told the voting public across the country over the months while campaigning to win the 2016 election.
Sure enough, Trump managed to win Wisconsin. His victory there, plus wins in Michigan and Pennsylvania, are what gave him his national triumph.
There are about 23 million adults in those three states. Trump won all three by only 77,744 votes…COMBINED.
So, do you think his strategy of lying incessantly and shamelessly may have actually worked? If we were told in 2015 that a candidate was about to mislead us 5,000 times before the election, would we bother to consider voting for him at all? Or might we have looked around for a more honorable human being? It’s pretty plausible to think that at least 77,744 in those states would have decided not to vote for him if they had known, right?
Your '24 vote matters.
